Gender Affirming Care
What to Expect
The evaluation process begins with a collaborative meeting with one of our therapists. During that session, we want to get to know your unique gender story and learn about your level of readiness for surgery. Together, we will also identify any additional supports you may need moving forward.
Initial Appointment
Psychological Evaluation: You will meet with a provider to discuss your personal history, gender journey, and current support systems.
Readiness for Surgery: This evaluation helps determine your expectations, emotional preparedness for post-surgery, and levels of local or personal support you have in place..
Letter of Readiness: Our main objective is to understand your needs and provide a plan that best supports your goals. Once the assessment is complete and your level of readiness is confirmed, your provider will write and submit the "letter of readiness" required by your surgeon(s) and insurance companies.
Three Part Process
Taking the first steps towards gender-affirming care is both deeply meaningful and can bring a wide range of emotions, which is why it is so important to have access to clinicians who offer a safe, affirming, and compassionate space to explore your needs, ask questions, and make informed decisions.
Our goal is to help you fulfill insurance requirements, secure the documentation you need to access your care, and support you in navigating the process with clarify and confidence, honoring each person’s unique identity, experience, and goals.
